Portsmouth striker Jermain Defoe has been tole he can't play against
his former club Tottenham for tomorrows football games by the Premier
League! The Premier League claim that no player that is loaned to
another team may play against the team providing the loaned player.
This is really a bit stupid as Portsmouth and Tottenham agreed to a
loan as the transfer window was closing then the deal was made
permanent afterwards. Portsmouth are obviously not happy and apparently
Tottenham were expecting there former striker to be playing against
them.

A Premier League spokesman said "The rules are clear.
A player taken on loan, even if that deal is made permanent, may not play against the team that loaned him."
An obviously unhappy Harry Redknapp said "It's a load of nonsense really, it's some silly rule and there's nothing we can do about it." As always the Portsmouth boss straight to the point in a no nonsense way lol.
A spokesperson for Portsmouth football club said about Jermain Defoe ineligibility to play against Tottenham "Clearly we are not happy about the situation. Jermain was only signed on a loan deal due to time restraints on transfer deadline day and the deal was made permanent soon after. Spurs themselves were under the impression he was playing and clearly the rule needs to be looked at again as we will not be the only club to be affected by this. We have tried to get the ruling overturned and have lots of support from the other Premier League clubs but nothing can be done until the next shareholders' meeting in April."
So he won't be playing but I'm going to stick my neck out a little and predict a 1 - 2 scoreline (Tottenham fans please don't flame me lol) with an entertaining game of football.
