The first of todays big Premiership football games has been played with
Manchester United beating arch rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford 3 - 0.
Man U scored after 34 minutes as Wes Brown's header met Wayne Rooneys
cross. Then it all went downhill for Liverpool as just before half time
Liverpool had Javier Mascherano sent off after a second yellow card for
dissent. Strangely Javier Mascherano's red card was given when they had
won a free kick, idiot should have just got on with the game of
football!

Liverpool did however manage to hold out for most of the second half
until who other than Christiano Ronaldo scored from a header on 79
minutes. His first goal against Liverpoll and his 34th of the season
for Manchester United. A couple of minutes later and Nani plays a one
two with Wayne Rooney before hammering a shot into Pepe Reina's goal
and to seal the game for Manchester United.
The win puts Manchester United 3 points clear of the Barclays Premiership League table and firmly puts the pressure on Arsenal as they play away to Chelsea in this afternoons game. Why can't the title race be this close every year!
