Manchester United seem to be securing the long term services of there
English players after announcing new deals have been reached with
Micheal Carrick, (the over rated and highly dislikable) Wes Brown and
Rio Ferdinand. The length of the new contracts has not been disclosed
and was announced to Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson by chief
executive David Gill today.

Manchester United play away to Blackburn this weekend in an important
Premiership football game and according to the BBC sport website
manager Sir Alex Ferguson said "They have agreed new deals. It
continues our policy of lengthening contracts at the right time.We have
a strong squad already and this just keeps it going. And I would
imagine there is a good possibility of stocking up again in the summer.
The strong squad we have built has aided us this season and this latest
bit of business is definitely good news."
