Manager Arsene Wenger still believes that Arsenal can walk away with 2 trophies this term with the Premiership and Champions League. He's being pretty optimistic considering they have fallen behind Manchester United and Chelsea in the Premier League after leading the table for much of the season and a tough fixture at Anfield against boring boring Liverpool in the Champions League.
Funny picture of Arsene Wenger I know lol.
Its hard to see how Arsenal have any realistic chance of winning the Premier League title this season especially with a trip to Old Trafford on the cards. Last time Arsenal played Manchester United they shouldn't have even bothered turning up, although stranger things have happened.
So that leaves the Champions League as Arsenals best chance of football silverware this year which again they have made difficult for themselves after drawing 1 - 1 with Liverpool at the Emirates stadium. They have to score at Anfield which will play right into the hands of the seriously boring to watch Liverpool who will no doubt deploy their favourite tactic of putting 10 defenders behind the football for 89 minutes of the game.
Arsene Wenger said "I still believe we can finish as champions in the league but we need to win at United on Sunday. I also believe we can win the Champions League. I wouldn't be here if I didn't think that." (Told you he's very optimistic!).
The Arsenal boss went on to say about the Champions League clash away at Liverpool "I believe we have to go into the game with the same positive attitude. I believe we can win anywhere in the world. We are not going to play the game to go to penalties, we will play it to win. There will be more urgency in this game and less observation. My wish is not to be patient. I want to score early goals."
Least it should be an interesting game of football.
Fingers crossed Liverpool don't sit back and make it a boring game for us neutrals (I use the word neutral rather loosely when it comes to Liverpool football club lol).
