Gadgets: January 2008 Archives

The much anticipated Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 release dates for Grand Theft Auto IV have been confirmed by Rockstar Games as the 29th of April. The date is for a worldwide release and if I was a betting man I'd put money on Grand Theft Auto IV being one of the biggest games (if not the biggest) of 2008.

Yup direct from Macworld 2008 is the unsurprising announcement that Apple will release the Macbook Air, and just look at the gadget it stupidly tiny and thin (high five). No doubt will be a great gadget for working on the train then (I'm rather tempted to buy one for writing my blogs on whilst commuting) and isn't too badly prices for an Apple notebook with prices starting from £1,199 (then again the Macbook Air isn't too cheap either).

Now our sister site cheap televisions normally deal with all the home entertainment and television related news but this one is certainly a proper big boys toy. The television is being shown at this years CES 2008 and is a huge 150 inches!! Thats the equivalent of 9, 50 inch flat panel TVs stuck together and dwarfs the previous biggest a 108 inch TV made by Sharp. The only people who could house them or even afford the massive £50,000 price tag on the 150 inch Panasonic TV are probably footballers (the lucky gits lol, but what a gadget).

This has been all over the press today being released at the CES 2008 electronics show today. Its called the Rovio and is made by robotics firm WowWee and has some cool little features like an omni-directional web cam so you can stalk people or something lol. Every boy dreams of owning a robot when they are little and as we grow into men we still want one and it appears home robotics are finally upon us with gadgets like this.

You'd be forgiven for thinking I've gone a bit Porsche crazy today, but I thought this phone was a proper big boys toy so its here. Now just to be clear the Porsche Design P9521 isn't made by Porsche its just designed by them (apparently) and is actually made by phone manufactured Sagem. It does look the part though with and aluminum and black glass finish although all this style does come at a price with the Porsche Design P9521 phone costing a hefty £800!
